AUTHORITIES arrested a retired police officer in Iligan City for malversation of public funds, Tuesday, this week.
Police Col. Dominador Estrada, Iligan City Police Office director, identified the suspect as Cesar Delantar, 58, widow, and a Purok 24, Zone 10, Barangay Maria Cristina resident of the said city.
Delantar had the rank of Senior Police Officer 1 when he was still active at the Philippine National Police.
He was nabbed by operatives assigned at Iligan City Police Station 2 led by
Police Maj. Marlon Agabon while at Purok Gumamela, Barangay Mahayahay of the same city at 5:17 pm.
The arresting officers were armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Wenida Papandayan of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 8, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Papandayan allowed the suspect to post a bail bond of P30,000 for his temporary liberty.
