A senior citizen and a widower from Naawan, Misamis Oriental was arrested by the police for facing three counts of statutory rape in court yesterday at 7 pm.
Police Major Reynante Labio, Naawan Police Station commander, identified the suspect as Abundio Sabandal, 66, a carpenter, and a resident of Purok 4. Sitio Mahanggub, Barangay Lubilan, Naawan of the said province
The suspect, who was tagged by the police as the 6th most wanted person in the province, was nabbed at his residence by virtue of a warrant of arrest.
The judge did not allow the suspect to post a bail bond for the latter’s supposed temporary liberty.
He is now under the custody of the Naawan police for proper disposition.
