Press ReleaseShared value in waste: FDC Misamis, Motolite, continues partnership on proper ULAB disposalMGSDOctober 16, 20251 min read Filinvest Group’s FDC Misamis Power Corporation (FDC Misamis) has successfully turned over 200 units of used lead-acid batteries (ULABs) to Oriental & Motolite Corporation under the Balik Baterya Program. If improperly discarded, ULABs have a devastating impact on the environment since they contain lead and sulfuric acid. They can contaminate waterways and pose a health threat. The Balik Baterya Program is a two-pronged endeavor that provides a venue for disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations, while also getting cash incentives for ULABs donated. This highlights creating shared value between stakeholders — proper disposal for FDC Misamis and material recovery for Motolite. To date, FDC Misamis has donated over 400 units of ULABs, which forms part of the company’s continuing commitment to sustainability.
