Padayon Pilipino Chairman Lordan Suan revealed on October 1 that negotiations between the National Alliance and Mayor Rolando Uy fell through after Uy had already announced his One Kagayan slate alongside Congressman Rufus Rodriguez.

Suan noted that their own slate remains incomplete, delayed by their wait for Uy’s decision.

However, Uy’s formal alignment with One Kagayan during a convention on September 28 signaled his refusal to join the National Alliance’s proposal.

The negotiations, part of the Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas, sought to prevent Raineir Joaquin Uy from running in the 1st District while ensuring Padayon Pilipino’s support for Mayor Uy without backing another candidate.

Mayor Uy had recently taken an oath as a member of the Federal Party under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., while Suan is aligned with the Lakas-CMD party of Congressman Martin Romualdez.

With Uy’s rejection of the alliance’s proposal, Suan indicated a strong possibility that Padayon Pilipino may back former Mayor Oscar Moreno for the mayoral race.

“There’s a big possibility,” Suan confirmed, regarding Moreno’s potential candidacy under Padayon Pilipino.

Suan urged supporters to remain patient as the party finalizes its slate, reassuring them that a series of meetings will lead to the completion before the Certificate of Candidacy filing deadline.

Responding to critics who question his leadership due to the delay, Suan said, “Patience is a sign of strength,” and appealed for just “a little more patience, just a few more days.”

On September 29, Congressman Yevgeny Vincente Emano also confirmed that Padayon Pilipino is still in discussions to complete their slate.
