“Determination to succeed and Resilience despite the challenges, especially pandemic karon, as a company and as a family we are very resilient despite our situation, considering that we are homegrown, we did not have the luxury of having a very strong national brand name, we did not have the capacity to attract those who are coming from Cebu and Manila, that is why we opted to stay homegrown and grow the center locally here in Cagayan de Oro,” he said.
Despite the pandemic, the company strived and prospered and has set its goal in doubling its current rosters of customer care ambassadors this year to meet the growing demands of the BPO industry.
“We will be providing jobs. That is part of our advocacy; of course there is the business side, but there is a greater purpose in it, and that is to provide jobs, especially now daghan kaayo nawal-an ug trabaho. Luckily we are one of the industries that are thriving,” Duran said.
This year, SupportZebra plans to grow the center and move its operation from its current location at the Capitol University’s Former Graduate School Building to its recruitment hub by completely occupying the entire building.
“Hopefully we will continue to grow, and at the same time continue to serve and give employment opportunities to people in Cagayan de Oro,” Duran said.
To ensure the health and safety of its employees, the company spared no expense in investing in industrial air purifiers and filters, and routinely disinfects its offices.

In an interview with SupportZebra Vice President of Operations, Khalil Bernard Rellin said “The good thing about SupportZebra is that we have very strict health and safety protocols. I am very sure among all the call centers here in CDO, we are the only one who invested in extra safety measures from air filters and fogging every week.” “Growth is inevitable for SupportZebra. We are growing, making sure that we are performing, and making sure our clients are happy,” Rellin concluded.

The pandemic has brought out the best in SupportZebra, and its employees are witnesses to this struggles. Despite the hardships, it remained true to its core value to stay positive. It created a framework that made it possible for them to work. Staying true to its core value in protecting the livelihood of its employees, SupportZebra during the onset of the pandemic here in Cagayan de Oro, did its utmost best to provide its employees with work.
“Part of our core value is we chose to be positive, despite the negative circumstances. We were not designed to be a call center to have a work-from-home setup; we did not have the framework for that. But because of that challenge, it became a positive for us because in just three (3) weeks we were able to create a work-from-home set up and we will continue to offer it even after the pandemic,” Duran said.
Duran proudly said: “Nakita sa mga employees nga ang core values sa company nangibabaw, walay retrenchment. It was never an option to let go of our employees.”
When asked about the most memorable moment in the past 10 years of SupportZebra, Duran said: “In general, wala gyud koy usa ka extraordinary focus on one event, during the 10 years mora siyag series of events. We had an employee when we started nga namasin pa bitaw, wala pa siya nag graduate nang-apply. He is now part of our leadership team, he is a manager, and now he has a car, recently nag-down na siya ug balay. Those achievements coming from your employees are sources of pride, part of our success, when we see them successful, achievement nana sako.”

“To my SupportZebra family: as we grow, may we always remember that even though SupportZebra or FBC before was founded by a handful of individuals. But it never would have become what it is now without the contribution of each and every one of us. Let’s continue to have the tenacity to grow, not only as a company but as one family. Above all, we will not forget to repay the generosity of Our Maker who has blessed us through the past 10 years by helping us grow. We should exhibit the same generosity to our community especially to our internal and external SupportZebra family,” Duran concluded.
