TAGOLOAN police have automatically surmised that the killing of a habal-habal driver yesterday at past 10 pm at Zone 3, Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, as a drug-related execution.
Authorities identified the fatality as one Ricky Pagtalunan, 32.
Tagolaon Police Investigator PStaff Sgt. Rodney Salindo said the gunman used a caliber .45 pistol in killing Pagtalunan.
“Siguro involve gihapon ni sa droga,” Salindo said.
A witness said Pagtalunan was sitting in a corner, meters away from his house when the incident happened.
According to a witness, the gunman was accompanied by three other persons.
“According sa statement sa witness, katong biktima nilingkod ra diri sa bangko unya kalit lang naay nihunong duha ka motor nga naay angkas isa. Isa, so, upat sila tanan. Ang kining duha ka angkas mao to’y nitira nya (Pagtalunan),” Salindo said.
After the shooting of Pagtalunan, the gunman also pointed his gun at the witness and grabbed the witness’ mobile phone.
“Ang witness pud gitiunan ug gikuha iyang cellphone,” added Salindo.
This is the first recorded shooting incident in Tagoloan during the pandemic.
“Sa pagkakaron, mao pani nga panghitabo,” said Salindo
Police have seized gun shells, belongings of the gunman such as motorcycle keys and P40 cash at the crime scene.
Salindo said they will conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the identity of the suspect.
