FOR a sachet of suspected shabu, a 24-year-old trisikad driver was arrested by authorities during a buy-bust operation Sunday, this week in Iligan City.
Police Col. Dominador Estrada, Iligan City Police Director, identified the suspect as Jheamel Mala, a.k.a ‘Jamil,’ 24, single, and a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Saray of the said city.
Personnel from Iligan police station’s Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Police Lt. Vladimir Tenorio, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration-10, conducted the said operation at Purok 2 of the said barangay at about 4 pm.
Aside from a P400 worth sachet of suspected illegal drug, police also recovered drug paraphernalia and a genuine P500 bill buy-bust money
After the operation, the suspect was brought to the said police station for proper disposition.
A case in violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 is being prepared for filing in court against the suspect.
