Surf2Sawa powered by Converge., and celebrity guests visited Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City on November 30 for the launching of BRGY S2S where a whole day of fun activities, surprises, and prizes awaited residents.

During the said activity, SB New Gen accompanied by Converge executives lead by Dhing C. Pascual, Vice President for Product Management, and its Business Unit Head formally kicked off the BRGY Surf2Sawa through a motorcade around the said barangay.
The whole day activity boasted some of the best performances that residents have seen, with SB New Gen’s energetic performance that left the crowd with a memorable impression. Their charismatic charm with the audience also resonated with the audience during their segments in a series of games where chosen participants got a chance to go up on stage and participate and win prizes.
Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and CheChe Tolentino also made an appearance that pushed the event to a whole new level, where three lucky residents of Canitoan won a one-year subscription during its “Sugod Barangay” segment.
Melai for her part during the activity felt at home when interacting with fellow Visayans as the enthusiasm from the crowd from start to finish never dwindled down. Tolentino as one of the original Sexbomb dancers also entertained the crowd during a joint performance with SB New Gen further igniting the audience.
Aside from the fun activities provided by Converge. They also took the initiative to provide job opportunities for residents who are interested in becoming agents and retailers for Surf2Sawa; an independent booth was provided for applicants to apply as well as an on-the-spot application for Surf2Sawa prepaid plan itself.
According to Pascual, this is the 5th Surf2Sawa activity held in Mindanao, and they always make it a point to provide job opportunities to communities they visit. This program aims to provide additional income to those who are willing to learn and do not require any prior experience.
The said event also provided a venue for dancers, not only exclusive to Barangay Canitoan to join their Dance2Sawa dance competition and showcase their skills. During the said competition RBL took home the grand champion bagging the P20,000 prize, followed by Flip Z winning P15,000 and AmBoyz clinching 3rd bringing home P10,000 in cash.
Ending the activity was a joint performance joined by Melai, Tolentino, and Converge’s executive lead by Pascual.
