FOUR persons in Bukidnon are now in jail after they were caught in the act of stealing pineapples yesterday at 10 pm.

Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, the province’s police regional director, identified the suspects who are all residing at Purok 7, Barangay Damilag of the same province as Rene Enterina, 37, single, a tricab driver; Alejandro Reyes, 35, married, a jeepney driver; Joralyn Tamparong, 34, married; and Eva Reyes, 32, single.

Police said that security personnel of Del Monte-PH Incorporated who were in their routine roving activity to secure the area arrested the suspects and turned them over to the authorities.

The suspects were caught in the act of pilfering 74 pieces of ripe pineapples at the Civilian Volunteer Organization outpost located at Purok 4, field 22, Section Charlie located at Purok 6 in Sitio Buntongon, Barangay Poblacion, Libona.

The stolen fruits amounted to a total of P4,440.

The suspects are now in the custody of Libona police facing a theft case. The vehicle they had used during the crime is also impounded.
