COACHES from the Karatedo team representing Region 10 praised their athletes for their outstanding performance at the 2024 PRISAA National Games held in Legaspi City, Albay.
The Karatedo Championship took place at Ayala Mall from July 22-25, 2024, and the results brought great pride to the region and especially to Pilgrim Christian College (PCC) based in Cagayan de Oro City.
The official results were submitted by men and women head coach Hipolito Majaducon, along with Assistant Coaches Rene Ricardo Donaire and Elizabeth C. Santos.
They expressed their joy over the athletes' success.
The recent PRISAA National Games gave Pilgrim Christian College a reason to celebrate as their athletes won numerous medals in the Karatedo Championship.
"The event showcased the skill and determination of the students, said Asst coach for women Elizabeth Santos.
One of the standout performers was Rahnee Zelle Unas, who was named the Best Player in the Karatedo Girl category.
Competing in the 14-15 years old division, Santos said she (Unas) won two gold medals in the -48kg category and Individual Kata, and a silver medal in Team Kata Girl.
Other successful athletes from Pilgrim Christian College also made their mark. Charlize James Santos secured a gold medal in the 16-17 years old -76kg category and a silver in Team Kata Boys.
Niel Lloyd B. Sangrador, another young talent, secured gold in the 14-15 years old individual kumite (-57kg) category, silver in the individual Kata Boys Gold individual and silver team Kata.
Lleyton Andre Santos earned a gold medal in the 16-17 years old -76kg category, while Aaron Dave Lacaba achieved a gold medal in the 14-15 years old -52kg category.
Martino Laurence Jadap brought home two silver medals in the 16-17 years old -61kg category and Team Kata Boys.
Zharich Abragan received a silver medal in Individual Kata, a silver in Team Kata Girls, and a bronze in the 16-17 years old -53kg category. Alexa Janelle P. Alfanta won a bronze medal in the 16-17 years old -48kg category and a silver in Team Kata Girls.
Jan-rey Monta earned a bronze in Senior Team Kata Men.
Overall, the athletes from Pilgrim Christian College made a significant contribution to the medal tally.
Their impressive performance helped Region 10 secure the sixth place in the overall medal ranking.
