NORTHERN Mindanao’s Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10) has deployed 1,970 officers to ensure public safety during Undas 2024, a holiday when Filipinos traditionally visit cemeteries to honor their deceased relatives. The deployment will last until November 3, according to Police Major Joann Navarro, spokesperson for PRO-10.
A send-off ceremony took place today at the Grandstand, Camp 1Lt Vicente G. Alagar in Cagayan de Oro City.
The event, led by Acting Police Regional Director PBGen Jaysen C. de Guzman, underscored the agency’s commitment to maximizing security and public assistance during the holiday.
Navarro stated that most officers deployed come from local police stations and provincial offices, with an additional 270 personnel from the regional headquarters stationed at cemeteries.
“This deployment highlights the regional headquarters’ focus on rapid response capabilities,” Navarro added, stressing the importance of preparedness during a time when public gatherings increase.
In his address, PBGen De Guzman reminded officers to remain vigilant, professional, and responsive to public needs. PRO-10 assured residents that proactive measures are in place to ensure a safe and peaceful Undas 2024 across Northern Mindanao.
