THE Philippine National Police (PNP) in Northern Mindanao, under the leadership of Police Brig. Gen. Ricardo G. Layug Jr., will deploy maximum personnel to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of the 126th Independence Day on June 12, 2024.

Major Joann Navarro, the regional police spokesperson, announced that approximately 2,189 PNP personnel will be strategically stationed in key areas such as plazas and freedom parks throughout Region 10.

“The entire PNP joins the nation in commemorating the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence. Like our heroic forefathers, the PNP is prepared to ensure our nation remains free, peaceful, progressive, and safe,” stated Gen. Layug.

The deployment will focus on critical locations to prevent any incidents during the celebrations, Major Navarro added.
Gen. Layug also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities during the event.

In Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, Mayor Alexis Quina will lead the Independence Day celebration, with municipal employees and elected officials expected to attend.
