AUTHORITIES yesterday stepped up operations in the city in time for the feast of the Black Nazarene today. City hall’s Emergency Medical Services personnel, Urban Search and  Rescue  (Usar) team, and the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) have been mobilized and in full force since last night. Allan Porcadilla, head of the City Disaster Risk  Reduction  Management  Office, said the city hall teams were fielded to the Nazareno church and the Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center since last night, and would continue until today’s annual Black Nazarene procession which is seen to draw thousands of devotees. Porcadilla said private  rescue groups and Red  Cross have been closely coordinating. (na)
