AUTHORITIES seized a high-powered firearm owned by one of the security aides of ambush survivor Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong in the house of one of the arrested suspects at 3:15 am last Friday.

Taken from the residence of Conda Kinumpas Tumao a.k.a. ‘Palawan Salem Macalbo,’ located at Barangay Panamsamon, Ninoy Aquino, Kalilangan of the said province, was a Galil Ace assault riffle with serial number 48220005.

The seized gun was believed to be owned by a certain Police Corporal Johanie Sumandar, one of the four Adiong security aides who were killed during the February 17 ambush in Maguing town of the same province.

Also seized from Tumao’s residence were a magazine with 28 pieces of M16 live ammunition, a pouch containing a postal and a Comelec ID named Sumandar, a Moro Islamic Liberation Front identification card named Macalbo, and a backpack.

The said raiding team was armed with a search and seizure warrant issued by the court when they swooped down the suspect’s house.

Tumao is currently detained at the Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Malaybalay City facing illegal possession of firearms.

The search, seizure, inventory, and markings of pieces of evidence were witnessed by Barangay Councilors Hilbert Sulpico, Sr., and Juanito Sumallong of Barangay Ninoy Aquino, Kalilangan, and a media representative.

The raid was also joined by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bukidnon, the 2nd Bukidnon Police Mobile Force Company, and the Police Intelligence Units of Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon.
