CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall departments and offices with frontline services are being mobilized for the ‘Klarex Na Serbisyo Sa Barrio’ program on Thursday this week at Barangay Tignapoloan.

“A series of coordination meetings among all concerned agencies were held and preparations have been finalized. The City Public Services Office (was) already sent to set up in the area on Wednesday and the kickoff will be on Thursday. The City Engineering Office sent a team for road maintenance activities,” City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas said on Monday.

In his weekly message on behalf of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy during Monday morning’s flag-raising program, Raagas said other teams such as the City Civil Registry Office and Community Improvement Division made advance coordination with the barangay officials for the outreach program.

“Mayor Klarex will officiate a mass wedding there,” Raagas said in Visayan.

The ‘Klarex Na Serbisyo Sa Barrio’ program is one of several launched by the Klarex administration in keeping with the mayor’s pledge to bring the city government closer to the people.

Other initiatives include the ‘People’s Day’ held every Wednesday and Thursday starting last Aug. 15 and the ‘Inyong Alagad: Mayor Klarex’ program held at Magnum Radyo, an extension of the ‘People’s Day’ program.

Raagas invited administration councilors to act as godparents to the couples who would tie the knot in the mass wedding.

“The Klarex Na Serbisyo Sa Barrio’ is a fiesta of services to the people of Cagayan de Oro City especially our constituents living in the hinterlands or mountain barangays that are far from the city proper,” Raagas said.

Raagas said while City Hall is spearheading the outreach program, it will also be participated in by national government line agencies.

“We invited the Fourth Infantry Division of the Armed Forces, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, and the Bureau of Fire Protection to join in our program. They will send medical teams along with the Philippine Statistics Authority and the civic groups like the Philippine Eagles,” Raagas said. (Stephen Capillas of City Information Office)
