MANILA City ― Young karateka Keith Marjorie Cailing Colita delivered the second gold for Misamis Oriental in the ongoing Batang Pinoy National Championships 2023 here.

This, as the well-prepared Colita ruled the karatedo’s kumite contest for the 12 to 13 years old category on Tuesday afternoon over at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Colita’s cousin Benedict Cailing Jusay won’t be going home also empty-handed as he captured a silver in the intermediate kumite for the 10 to 11 years old category.

“The triumph’s worth it because we struggled financially to be able to come here. The long travels and every night practice have already been compensated,” said the two MisOr karatekas’ guardian/parent Maricel Jusay as she thanked Sensie Aldrin Ello Gentio and assistant coach Boyet Jusay for their valuable guidance and mentorship.

“Amo sab dakong pasalamat sa KNEA Family, Jasaan council, Mayor Redentor Jardin, Kapitan Algie Edades ug sa among SK chairman daghan kaayong salamat,” added Jusay on her Facebook post.

Swimmer Shiblon Montera also won a silver for Misamis Oriental in the 50m butterfly event, while Elija Suarez (Kata) of karatedo and Nimrod Montera (100m freestyle) of swimming settled for a bronze each.
