MANILA City ― Marc Angelo Cabiluna, the wonder boy from Villanueva town, is poised to repeat his stunning performance last year in Vigan City in the ongoing Batang Pinoy National Championships 2023 here.

The 16-year-old Cabiluna, now growing by three inches at five-foot-five tall, delivered the first gold for Misamis Oriental province by topping the long jump event on Tuesday morning.

In doing so, Cabiluna even broke his 6.54 record in Vigan City when he leaped the bar forward to a distance of 6.62 over at the track oval in Pasig Ultra, outperforming Kenn Clavero Lucero from the province of Puerto Princesa and Sam Kenjie Bantillo from the province of Iloilo who took the silver and bronze with 6.58 and 6.52 meters, respectively.

With his mother/coach Cherry, 53 always inspiring the sideways, the senior high student of Villanueva National High School guns for a second gold in the triple jump challenge in a bid to duplicate his double-gold finish last year at the Quirino Stadium in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
