FOR firing his gun indiscriminately, a 41-year-old Bukidnon resident was arrested by authorities over the weekend.

He is facing a string of cases in violation of illegal discharge of firearms and illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, the province’s police director, identified the suspect as Jonathan Nietes, single, and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Malipayon, Pangantucan of the said province.

Personnel assigned at Pangantucan Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect at Sitio Dumalama, Barangay Bangahan of the said municipality at 5 pm.

Lagare said that prior to the arrest Barangay councilor Jemar Pasino of the said barangay called up the police station in the area informing them that a certain individual indiscriminately fired his gun.

Immediately personnel of the said station led by Police Major Dominador Orate, Jr. responded to the area and arrested the suspect.

Nietes, who was under the influence of liquor, was also possessing a hand grenade.

Confiscated from the suspect was a caliber 40 pistol with serial number 1364297, a hand grenade, and some personal belongings. The police also found four pieces of fired bullets.

The suspect together with the pieces of evidence was brought to the said station.
