AFTER President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ended the State of Public Health Emergency, the local government in Camiguin made a new rule.

This rule stops the old health rules but still says people must use the CleanCamiguin QR system. This is for people who live here and people who visit.

Camiguin Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo said they won't ask for a negative COVID-19 test from unvaccinated visitors anymore.

This change started on July 25, 2023 and changes to the QR system will happen on July 31, 2023.

"Visitors won't need to fill out the "schedule a visit" form on the CleanCamiguinQR website anymore," sa Romualdo.

He said they will still use the QR system for Smart Tourism in Camiguin and for digital Camiguin resident ID cards.

Nykolsha Rayos, the person in charge of planning for the province, said the QR system won't be hard for travelers anymore because it will only ask for important travel information.

People from the local government will help travelers make their QR code if they need help, according to Rayos.

Rayos said the QR system will help the province know how many tourists come, where they come from, and other important information.

This also helps the Department of Tourism know how many tourists come every month.

They also made a rule about how many people can come to Camiguin at one time.

He said this is to keep the environment clean.

A tourist, Michelle Seroy from Iloilo City, is happy about the changes. She said it's now easy to come and go from the island.

Rayos also asked locals and tourists to tell the truth when they put in their information in the QR system, especially their address. This will help travel go smoothly and not be slow.
