THE capitol here has canceled all its indoor and outdoor events through an executive order issued by Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano to avoid their constituents from exposure to the coronavirus.
Executive order GYBVE No.2020-185 signed on Feb. 8 directs all of the capitol’s department heads, chiefs, offices, and hospitals to cancel all their scheduled events in and outside of the capitol grounds.
The order has been issued in light of the global outbreak of the coronavirus and the cancellation of events is a precautionary measure of the attending stakeholders from exposure or contamination of the virus.
The cancellation of events will be lifted upon the advice of a national government agency, the order reads in part.
One of Emano’s event has since been canceled. The annual gathering of the capitol’s scholars under the Iskolar Ko Ni Bambi program, slated every Feb. 14, was canceled.
Earlier this month, Emano also issued Executive Order GYVBE 2020-179 that declared a travel ban for all capitol employees.
The travel ban is intended for all employees not to travel abroad except if there is an emergency with a corresponding clearance from the Provincial Health Department Head Dr. Jerie Calingasan.
If an employee is allowed to travel abroad, that employee shall undergo a 14-day quarantine in their home upon returning to the country.
“Kaning mga executive order ni gob pinasikad sad ni sa nahitabong panagtigom niadtong miaging semana kauban ang mga chief of hospitals kabahin na sa pagpugong nga mukaylap kining nahisgutan nga virus. Maayo man nang managana kita daan,” capitol spokesman Florito Dugaduga said.
