CHEMCO, the City Hall Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative Inc., is gearing up for a series of activities to commemorate Cooperative Month in the country.
According to Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff at the City Mayor's Office, CHEMCO will be actively participating in various events to celebrate this annual observance.
Lumbatan said during the flag-raising program hosted by the City Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (CAPOO) on Monday morning, Myrna Castro Dangcal, who serves as one of CHEMCO's board of directors, made the official announcement.
She (Dangcal) revealed that the cooperative has planned a blood-letting program and free medical screening as part of their involvement in the month-long celebration.
The local Cooperative Month festivities will kick off at 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 1, at the Provincial Capitol grounds, according to Dangcal.
Dangcal highlighted that each department from City Hall has been requested to send at least three employees to participate in the launch event.
"This demonstrates the cooperative's commitment to promoting unity and collaboration among its members," Dangcal said.
Meanwhile, Lumbatan said, the blood-letting program organized by CHEMCO aims to contribute to the community's blood supply.
"It provides an opportunity for City Hall employees and other participants to donate blood, aiding those in need of transfusions," Lumbatan said adding that this noble act of giving back to the community is a testament to the cooperative's dedication to social responsibility.
In addition to the bloodletting, she said that CHEMCO will also offer free medical screening programs.
"This initiative aims to promote the well-being of its members and ensure their overall health," said Lumbatan.
By providing access to medical check-ups, the cooperative prioritizes the welfare of its employees and underscores the importance of preventive healthcare, she stressed.
As Cooperative Month approaches, CHEMCO's active involvement in the celebration highlights its commitment to fostering camaraderie and solidarity among the City Hall employees.
