CITY Hall's Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (CAPOO) assumed responsibility for the flag-raising program held at the City Hall quadrangle on Monday morning.
City Mayor's Office chief of Staff Shiela Lumbatan said the program featured several noteworthy events, including the presentation of a P2 million award to a farmers and fisherfolk association in Cagayan de Oro City.
"This award aimed to provide support and empowerment to the local agricultural community," said Lumbatan.
Amidst the program, Lumbatan said various announcements were made, demonstrating City Hall's active engagement in important upcoming events.
One of these announcements highlighted the city's participation in the forthcoming annual Civil Service Anniversary celebration, according to Lumbatan.
This participation reaffirmed the city's dedication to acknowledging the invaluable contributions of civil service employees.
Additionally, Lumbatan also revealed plans for the Cooperative Month celebration in October, which would be organized by the City Hall Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative Inc. (CHEMCO).
"This event sought to promote and raise awareness about the cooperative movement's significance in fostering economic growth and development," Lumbatan said.
She added that the flag-raising program served as a platform to showcase the city's unwavering commitment to promoting agriculture and providing support to local farmers and fisherfolk.
Lumbatan said the presentation of the P2 million award further emphasized the city's determination to offer financial assistance and resources to enhance productivity within the agricultural sector.
Moreover, Lumbatan said the event fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among City Hall employees, who gathered to celebrate achievements and upcoming milestones.
"It provided an opportunity to strengthen interdepartmental bonds and encourage collaboration in working towards shared objectives," she said.
