THE City's JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) is set to establish a new Trauma Center soon, as disclosed by Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff of the City Mayor's Office.
Lumbatan said this move is part of Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy's initiative to provide additional services to the city's residents.
According to Lumbatan, Dr. Ferdinand Miranda, the chief of the hospital at JRBGH, revealed plans for the imminent establishment of a 30-bed Trauma Center.
The center will supplement the already substantial services offered by the hospital, aiming to provide comprehensive trauma care to patients who would otherwise be forced to seek treatment in other facilities.
The Trauma Center isn't the only upgrade coming to the JRBGH, Lumbatan said.
She said the hospital is also preparing to receive a Mammogram, 2D Echo, and more modern X-ray machines.
These additions are set to enhance the hospital's capabilities, fulfilling the needs of patients without necessitating visits to other locations.
Lumbatan emphasized that the expansion and upgrade of the hospital's facilities reflect Mayor Uy's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the city's residents.
She outlined that the mayor (Klarex) is working tirelessly to secure the necessary funding and resources to make these improvements a reality.
Remember that JRBGH has already achieved Level II status and currently operates at a 175-bed capacity.
However, the demand for its services often exceeds this capacity, demonstrating the need for further development and expansion.
The planned Trauma Center and upgraded medical equipment will increase JRBGH's capacity to treat patients, significantly improving the health services available to the city's residents.
Moreover, the hospital's growth will provide more job opportunities for healthcare professionals in the city.
Lumbatan also emphasized that the said city hospital, under the leadership of Dr. Miranda with the support of the city government, continues to push for improvements in local healthcare services.
