CAGAYAN de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) officials distributed assorted grocery packs including 10 kilos of rice to the individuals from hinterland barangays tagged as the poorest of the poor Wednesday morning.

Cocpo Director Aaron Mandia said, aside from goods, they also accommodate the fortunate beneficiaries composed of 8 families and 45 individuals to dine at Jollibee Kauswagan.

Mandia said they choose them because they considered as indigent families coming from the hinterland areas of Sitio Tubanon Barangay Pagalungan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Regarded as Community Assistance, the activity is dubbed as “Taos Pusong Handog ni Acting City Director” with the theme: “Higalang Pulis Kaagapay, Kailanman.”

On the same day, the beneficiaries were toured around the city to experience personally the beauty of the place before they were transported back to their area.

“We adopted this advocacy just as we want to sustain this in order to reach out to every family who deserves to experience such as this occasion,” Mandia said in his speech.

He added that the Cocpo is doing its best to cater to every deserving family to experience joy in their hearts.

He said he could see the excitement in their faces during the whole duration of the activity.

“All these became a reality with the unwavering support of Cocpo Higalang Pulis with their helping hands,” Mandia said

He also did not forget to express his heart-warming gratitude to an anonymous supporter who extended his/her blessings to make such an occasion successful and a memorable one.

Mandia also thanked all the police officials who head police stations 1-10 in the city.
