AUTHORITIES have identified three persons of interest in the October 5 killing of Captain Abdulcahar Armama, former commander of Police Station 2 in Cogon, according to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo).

Armama was gunned down in Bulua while on his way home.

During a media forum on December 7, City Police Director Col. Salvador Radam stressed that the investigation remains meticulous to avoid apprehending the wrong suspect.

“We don’t want to arrest a fall guy just for the sake of filing charges,” Radam said in a mix of English and Cebuano. “We must be morally convinced that the person we apprehend is the true suspect.”

Radam shared that police have urged Armama’s family to remain patient as the investigation progresses, assuring them that justice will be served despite the delay.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation. This is why it’s taking some time—we want to file a solid case and be certain that we have the right person,” he explained.

Radam confirmed that three individuals are currently being considered as persons of interest in the case.
