A TOTAL of P1 million worth of suspected shabu were seized by operatives of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office in a buy-bust operation last Friday.
Police Major Mario Mantala, Jr., Police Station 4 commander, identified the two suspects as Jobert Payla aka ‘Mayoy,’ 22, single, a resident of Sitio Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan of the said city.
Payla was with another companion, a minor when he was arrested.
It was learned that prior to the arrest, Mantala, together with Police Lt. Lorenzo Ocon, PS4 Deputy Commander, conducted an entrapment operation at the said place at 6 pm.
The suspects handed over a sachet containing suspected illegal drugs to the poseur-buyer.
When frisked, authorities found in the suspects’ possession eight more large sachets with a street value of P1,088,000 and weighing 160 grams.
Also recovered were a P1,000 bill of buy-bust money, and some personal belongings.
Police said that during the arrest the suspects fought back with their arresting officers but were later overpowered.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at the said police station for proper disposition.
