REGIONAL executive director Carlene C. Collado of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO) 10 led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Regional Livestock and Research Production Building at the Malaybalay Stock Farm in Barangay Dalwangan on Monday last week.
Collado said the fund for the structure of the two-storey building came from the department's livestock program.
The 200-square meter floor area building will be constructed at the center of the MSF compound within the complex, according to Collado.
He even said the event is historical, noting its a "breaking new ground," as no construction of buildings in the area since 1974.
Collado encouraged the research division and other programs of the regional office to study and propose other necessary projects to be constructed to fully utilize the stock farm on research activities.
"The structure will serve as a modernized landmark," said DA-RFO 10 Livestock Program Coordinator Maria Lourdes M. Sypiecco.
Sypiecco said with all advanced technologies, output of the various livestock related researches will spring up, such as the Philippine native animal development, breeder maintenance and distribution program, forage apiculture development, among others.
The ceremonial rites were witnessed by the regional technical directors for research and regulations, and operations Carmelita T. Bajarla and Carlota S. Madriaga, and other DA-10 personnel. (Angie Cabig/EMB/DA-10)
