CAGAYAN de Oro City councilors urged Mayor Oscar Moreno and village chiefs to postpone the implementation of the administrative sanctions against the violators of the city's ordinances on the Covid-10 pandemic.
During the city council session this week, Councilor Edgar Cabanlas filed a resolution to delay the community service sanction to violators of the city's curfew hours.
Cabanlas explained that by suspending the implementation of the sanction, violators will not be gathered unnecessarily while serving their community service, which defeats the purpose of the community quarantine protocol of social distancing.
For his part, Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya reiterated that the city council is not asking for the repeal of the sanctions against the violators but only to delay its implementation. (SP)
