CHIEF Supt. Lyndel Desquitado would step down as regional director of the National Police for northern Mindanao today even as he awaits a promotion from Camp Crame ahead of his retirement six months from now.
Desquitado would be replaced by Chief Supt. Federico Dulay Jr., according to Camp Alagar spokesperson Supt. Gervacio Balmaceda.
Dulay is scheduled to formally accept the top position of the Police Regional Office-10 from Desquitado during turnover rites at Camp Alagar this morning.
Desquitado spent many years of his career serving in Camp Alagar before he was named as its regional director last year. He served as police chief of Region 10 for eight months, and would retire this July.
Balmaceda said Desquitado would need to serve in the national directorate of Camp Crame in order for him to get promoted to a higher rank. (nitz arancon)
