CITY social welfare and development executive overseer Michael Fabello today announced that 116,206 pre-identified households in this city will get financial assistance of P6,000 each.

“As of today, the money has not been downloaded yet, said Fabello, adding that the amount of more than P697 million comes from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s social amelioration program for those adversely affected by Covid-19 community quarantines.

Speaking during the Covid-19 briefing at city hall, the CSWD head said the list of indigent families comes from DSWD’s 2015 “Listahan 2” and that it validated two years ago.

He said the amount will be personally be given to the identified Covid-19 SAP recipient from CSWD teams, not from the village chiefs, as stipulated in the DSWD guidelines.

“This will be properly documented and liquidated,” said Fabello and that the accountable officer is the city treasurer.

For the past two days and nights, a team of CSWD personnel has been reproducing the SAP prescribed form for 116,206 would-be beneficiaries.

“Every form has to be printed separately since it has a specialized bar code and control number,” said social welfare officer, who also heads the food and non-food cluster of the city’s Covid-19 response task force.

Aside from accomplishing the form, an SAP identification card will also be issued.

The CSWD team will be guided by village-based locators who know where the indigent households are.

Fabello reminded would-be recipients to spend the money on food and medicines and refrain from non-essential expenses. (Uriel C. Quilinguing)
