ARE those sitting in the supposed august halls of the city council really up to what they blabbered when they campaigned to be elected to office, which is “para mo serbisyo kaninyong mga kabus ug dinaugdaug”?
I ask this because as it appears now, even the Moreno-friendly councilors like that commentator and that spouse of a national office director are apparently now beginning to show their true color, as if people did not know it from the start.
One is a noisy empty-head creation of his fighting-stance commentaries on radio but yet cannot deliver what he is supposed to do at the city circus. The ambitious spouse has apparently been positioning herself for another No. 1 position next year instead of doing what she is supposed to do now through pieces of relevant and well-though legislation. The Visayan description of this is “paling-paling asaangpabor.”
Just like the majority bloc, these two merely make noise with no results. While I understand that it is extremely difficult to go against the tide that’s the majority bloc, merely dancing with the music will never deliver the neutralizing factor in the city circus that the minority needs to assure their constituents.
I admire the likes of Abaday, Salcedo and Lao of the city circus because despite the difficulties posed by the rest of their blind-obedience colleagues in the circus, they still fight it out for the good of the people of Cagayan de Oro. But then again, the fact is the majority bloc blabbers better and blocks solidly to the detriment of the welfare of the Kagay-anons.
When will the bickering stop? Mayor Moreno has always been saying his ultimate goal is “to serve the people of Cagayan de Oro the best way possible.” This, without the support of the keeper of the purse will make it extremely difficult for the mayor to achieve. But as we can all see, he is making waves because despite the blockade put up by the blind-obedience bloc, he has succeeded in delivering his “Primehat” commitment to the people.
The majority bloc on the other hand says it was the mayor who started it. Come on, guys. Everybody knows puppets do what the puppet master wants them to do. All it takes is to pull the strings for puppets to move.
Should those blind-obedience people in the city circus wait for major disasters to happen before they wake up to reality? -Peter Clarete, concerned citizen
