PHILIPPINE Air Force pilot 1st Lt. April John Dadulla, one of two officers killed in the FA-50 jet crash on Mt. Kalatungan in Bukidnon, was set to marry on March 15, this year.

Dadulla, a member of PAF’s Sinaglawin Class of 2020, and Capt. Jude Salang-oy were found dead near the crash site in Barangay Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon, on Tuesday.

Rescue and retrieval operations were carried out by the Philippine Army and local volunteers.

The PAF confirmed the aircraft, which was reported missing on March 4, was located the following day after an extensive search operation.

“With deep regret and profound sadness, the PAF announces the loss of the two pilots aboard,” the PAF statement reads.

The operation, led by PAF and Army special forces, was hampered by dense fog and difficult terrain. Ground troops used locator beacons and emergency transmitter signals to track the wreckage, while aerial searches were conducted despite challenging weather conditions.

Following the incident, the PAF has grounded its FA-50 fleet pending an investigation.

“We are committed to providing all necessary support to the bereaved families and request the nation’s prayers for our fallen pilots, whose service and heroism we deeply honor,” the PAF added.
