COUNCILOR Maria Lourdes Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health and health insurance, is calling for the cooperation of the public regarding the stay-at-home and barangay exit pass policies now being implemented by the city government to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak.
It may be recalled that Mayor Oscar Moreno on Tuesday, issued Executive Order No. 062 implementing the Barangay Exit Pass regulation in the city to further limit the threat of the pandemic.
Under the EO, all barangays shall implement the exit pass policy, which shall govern and regulate the movements of people within their respective areas of the jurisdiction who may wish to leave their houses and barangays for essential purposes.
It requires employees reporting to work to present their respective employment identification cards to the concerned barangay officials, personnel of homeowners association representatives, duly authorized by the barangay.
Meanwhile, residents who require urgent medical attention shall be allowed to leave their homes without the need for securing a barangay exit pass.
The issuance of the barangay exit pass will be given free of charge as stipulated in the executive order.
Gaane is appealing to the public to observe these policies for the health and safety of everyone.
“Naghinaot kami sa inyong kooperasyon ug pagsabot sa atong sitwasyon na giatubang karon. Magtinabanga kita para sa atong kaluwasan. Pagpuyo sa balay kung walang importante na lakaw,” she said. (SP)
