In a bid to help protect healthcare workers against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) the Filipino-Chinese community here in Cagayan de Oro City recently turned over medical supplies and equipment amounting to P1 million to Northern Mindanao Medical Center.
This is to help frontliners better protect themselves from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic that has affected not only this region but all over the world as well.
The said turnover was lead by the Filipino-Chinese community Chairman Efren Uy.
Uy in an interview said “nag pakabana kami sa atoang situation dari sa CDO, muna naka hukom kami na atoa tabangan atoang mga frontliners. Kani mga hospital na gitahasan sa Department of Health para maoy mo tambal aning coronavirus na ni dagsa sa atoang dapit. Naka hukom kami na amoa pud ayudahan, para madali pagsugpol aning atoang ga atubangon na pandemic.” Uy said.
Seeing that there is a shortage of medical supplies and equipment in Hospitals such as alcohol, face mask, gloves among others the said group was formed. Comprising of over twenty clubs, schools, fraternity, and organizations in this city banded together in one caused.
Due to logistic issues the group made an initial donation of P365,000 worth of medical supplies and equipment to the NMMC. According to Uy the remaining P635,000 will also be given to NMMC.
“Amoa pa gapaaboton hinapuson karong bulan or primero simana sa Abril mao may saad sa importer na na atoang na contact sa kaulohan. Maninguha kita nga ang ilahang saad matuman para atoa napud dayun I hatud sa Northern Mindanao Medical Center,” he said.
