The letter of invitation to Barangay Carmen Chairman Raineir Joaquin Uy for tomorrow’s continuation of the deliberation on the spike of new registered voters in Barangay Carmen here.

THE House Committee on Electoral Reforms and Suffrage has again summoned City Mayor Rolando Uy and Carmen Barangay Chairman Rainier Uy to attend a hearing tomorrow, February 5, regarding the alleged surge in new voter registrations in Barangay Carmen.

In a letter dated Jan. 31, the committee stressed that the presence of both officials is highly requested for the continuation of deliberations.

However, Mayor Uy told Brigada Cagayan de Oro he may not attend due to a prior official engagement in Davao City.

City spokesperson Janboy Actub confirmed on Sunday that Uy will instead be represented by City Administrator Hilario Raagas and legal counsel.

“Naa syay tambungan nga personal appearance sa Davao City nga gi invite pud sya,” said Actub.

Both Mayor Uy and Chairman Uy were absent from the Jan. 28 committee meeting, also citing prior commitments.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 am Monday.
