CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy expressed his gratitude to the 20th City Council for their efforts in facilitating the approval of cash incentives for City Hall employees.
Earlier, the special session held by the City Council aimed to secure the allocation of a P20,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for the regular employees and officials of City Hall this January.
“This move reflects Mayor Klarex's acknowledgment of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the City Hall staff,” said City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan.
In addition to the SRI, Lumbatan said job order (JO) workers at City Hall will also be receiving a gratuity allowance of P5,000.
Recognizing the importance of all employees, according to Lumbatan, Mayor Uy further appealed to the City Council to consider approving an extra cash incentive equivalent to 60 percent of the regular employees' monthly salary.
His request is linked to the recent achievement of the city's Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), which highlights the outstanding performance of Cagayan de Oro City in various local governance areas.
Lumbatan added, the aim behind these cash incentives is to provide additional support and recognition to the dedicated individuals who contribute to the efficient functioning of City Hall.
“Mayor Klarex believes that such incentives not only serve as a token of appreciation but also motivate and inspire the employees to continue their excellent work for the betterment of the city and its residents,” said Lumbatan.
She said the announcement of these cash incentives demonstrates the commitment of the City Hall administration to prioritize the welfare and well-being of its employees.
