CITY Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy led the groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremony for the first Mega Health Center in Cagayan de Oro.
This ambitious project, located in Sitio Macanhan, barangay Carmen, is funded by the local government with a budget of P65 million and was inaugurated on October 24, this year.
Mayor Klarex expressed his deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the 20th City Council and the entire city hall bureaucracy.
Acvordingbto Uy, their commitment made it possible to realize the dream of a 'state of the art' Mega Health Center.
"This center aims to serve the people with valuable health services," said Uy.
Furthermore, the Mayor requested the City Engineering office and the contractor to immediately start the project this week.
The goal is to have the facility operational by next year or at the very least, before the feast of barangay Carmen in July.
The said 2-storey mega health center is expected to be completed within nine months.
The center will feature facilities and services like a pharmacy, birthing and dental clinics, hemodialysis stations, dialysis and mini-operating rooms, a consultation area, microbiology and water treatment laboratories, and a centralized air conditioning system among others.
Meanwhile, City Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, chairperson of the Committee on Health, Nutrition and Health Insurance, expressed hope that the facility would be accredited by the Department of Health as a Level 1 category infirmary.
She also anticipates that it will be recognized by Philhealth.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice Mayor Jocelyn 'Bebot' Rodriguez, City Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, Imee Rose Moreno, James Judith, and Malvern Esparcia. Sheila B. Lumbatan, City Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, department managers, members of the Barangay Carmen Council, and the people of Macanhan were also present to witness this momentous event.
