CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy proven himself to be an avid dog lover, as disclosed by City Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, Shiela Lumbatan Monday.
This revelation came to light during the first-ever Cagayan Higalaay Dog Day held at the Limketkai Atrium on Sunday, August 20.
The event, according to Lumbatan which is part of the Higalaay Festival, showcased the talents of various dogs and their owners.
In a commendable move, the city allocated a generous amount in prizes for the different categories of the dog show, according to Lumbatan.
"This demonstrates Mayor Klarex's commitment to promoting the welfare and happiness of dogs and their owners within the community," Lumbatan said.
Meanwhile, City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis expressed her gratitude to Mayor Klarex for giving attention to dog lovers and pet owners by facilitating such an event.
Dr. Asis further revealed that the mayor owns several pet dogs and displays a deep affection for these animals.
