CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall’s ‘Klarex nga Serbisyo sa Baryo’ program has been a hit ― reaching over 200,000 residents with free basic services since it launched two and a half years ago.

“That’s a lot of services and impact happy people,” said City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan.

City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s KSB program, launched with the motto “Ang gobyerno duol sa katawhan, ang katawhan duol sa gobyerno.” has reached over 217,533 residents.

Lumbatan said the program brings essential services directly to communities, making them more accessible and convenient for everyone.

This includes things like medical checkups, legal aid, and even job training.

Mayor Uy has been praised for his dedication to improving the lives of every Cagay-anons, said Lumbatan, adding that this program is a testament to his commitment to making sure everyone has access to the help they need.

One of its flagship initiatives, Lumbatan said is the ‘Suruy-Suruy Program: Klarex nga Serbisyo sa Panglawas,’ which focuses on providing medical services, particularly to senior citizens.

Through ‘Suruy-Suruy,’ residents can access a range of healthcare services, including: Philhealth services, Medical check-ups and consultations, Eye care, Dental services, Circumcision for children and Free medicine.

Earlier, Mayor Uy, together with Vice Mayor Jocely ‘Bebot’ Rodriguez, and Barangay Carmen Chair Ranier ‘KapKik’ Uy, along with the entire One Kagay-an Kauban ang Katawhan team, held a series of community outreach events in Barangay Carmen and other barangays within the city.

The visit, which included a mix of public consultations, service delivery, and community engagement activities, was a testament to Mayor Uy’s commitment to bringing government services closer to the people.

“I will never forget where I came from, the barangays where I was first given the opportunity to serve the people,” Mayor Uy said.

Like the mayor, Vice Mayor Rodriguez said that these visits are not just about delivering services, but also about listening to the concerns of the constituents and understanding their needs.

The outreach programs included various services like medical consultations, dental checkups, legal aid, and assistance with government documents.

The team also facilitated dialogues with residents, providing them with updates on city government programs and initiatives.

“We want to ensure that everyone has access to the services they need, regardless of their location,” Rodriguez said. “This is just the beginning of our efforts to bring the government closer to the people and build a stronger community.”

The One Kagay-an Kauban ang Katawhan team is expected to continue their barangay outreach programs, focusing on different communities across the city in the coming months.
