IN an exciting announcement from the City Mayor's Office, Chief of Staff Shiela Lumbatan on Thursday revealed two upcoming events that promise to light up the night sky and captivate residents and visitors alike.

The first event, the Symphony of Lights, is scheduled to take place at Gaston Park on December 1st, 2023, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Following this enchanting spectacle, attendees are encouraged to find a prime viewing spot at Rio de Oro Boulevard for the highly-anticipated 1st Mayor Klarex Uy Pyromusical Fireworks Competition, set to begin at 8:00 p.m.

Lumbatan said the Symphony of Lights promises to be a breathtaking display of illuminating artistry, highlighting the beauty and splendor of the holiday season.

Gaston Park, a beloved gathering place for the city's residents, will transform into a mesmerizing wonderland as a skilled team of visual artists conjures up a symphony of vibrant colors, dancing patterns, and awe-inspiring projections, according to Lumbatan.

"This enchanting show is bound to bring joy and wonder to all in attendance, as families come together to witness this unforgettable moment," said Lumbatan.

Once the Symphony of Lights concludes, Lumbatan added that the excitement will continue to build as attendees make their way to Rio de Oro Boulevard for the 1st Mayor Klarex Uy Pyromusical Fireworks Competition.

Combining the artistry of fireworks with synchronized music, this competition promises to be a visual and auditory extravaganza that will leave spectators in awe.

She also said that as pyrotechnic teams from other cities in Luzon, the Visayas including Iligan City compete for the top honors, spectators can anticipate a display of stunning pyrotechnic choreography, as rockets, comets, and bursts of color illuminate the night sky in perfect harmony with the music.

"Places to compete are one from Luzon, from Visayas, Iligan City, and then CDO," said Lumbatan.

She said that Mayor Klarex Uy expressed his enthusiasm for this inaugural event, emphasizing the aim to bring together the community, ignite a sense of pride, and foster a memorable experience for everyone.

Uy also highlighted that the event would not only entertain the audience but also showcase the city's commitment to promoting art, culture, and tourism.

As the date approaches, residents and visitors alike are urged to mark their calendars and make plans to attend these remarkable events, according to Lumbatan.

She added that the Symphony of Lights and the 1st Mayor Klarex Uy Pyromusical Fireworks Competition promise to be the highlight of the year, offering an opportunity for the city to come together, celebrate, and revel in the magic of the holiday season.

"With the promise of a spectacular visual feast and a night filled with wonder, December 1st, 2023, is a night not to be missed," said Lumbatan.
