CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy has announced that Sheraton Hotel and Landers Superstore will be opening in the city.
Sheila Lumbatan, the Mayor's Chief of Staff, confirmed that both Sheraton and Landers are planning to set up in Cagayan de Oro.
She said this news is expected to bring many benefits to the city's residents and its economy, adding that Mayor Uy worked directly with key people to make these investments happen.
During a recent trip to Manila, he met a businessman who plans to build a Sheraton hotel in the city. This shows that top hospitality brands are interested in Cagayan de Oro.
In addition, representatives from Landers Superstore visited Mayor Uy to share their plans for a new branch on a three-hectare property in the city.
Lumbatan emphasized that these investments will boost local business, create jobs, and help the city grow.
Mayor Uy shared more details during his Friday program ‘Ang Inyong Alagad: Mayor Klarex Uy’.
He mentioned that the businessman promised to build a Sheraton hotel in Cagayan de Oro, following successful projects in Mactan and Bohol.
Mayor Uy also confirmed that Landers Superstore will soon open in the city, developing a three-hectare property.
This follows the opening of Landers branches in Cebu and Davao. He assured that the chosen property for Landers will not be affected by rainy weather, with input from City Engineer Joel Momongan and Engr. Rosanna Rodriguez.
These announcements came shortly after Mayor Uy’s second City Mayor’s Annual Report at the Aquilino Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center.
He highlighted the growth of major malls and stores, and the entry of luxury hotels and retail outlets in the city.
Mayor Uy stated that City Hall issued 5,414 new business permits last year, showing strong business confidence in his administration. Revenue collection also increased to P5.6 billion.
Lumbatan expressed optimism about the economic boost these new establishments will bring to Cagayan de Oro.
She highlighted their importance in promoting sustainable growth and prosperity.
As the city prepares for the arrival of Sheraton Hotel and Landers Superstore, Lumbatan reiterated the administration's commitment to supporting initiatives that drive progress and improve residents' quality of life.
She stressed the importance of public and private sector collaboration in achieving the city's vision for growth.
With the efforts of Mayor Uy's administration, and key stakeholders, Lumbatan said, Cagayan de Oro is set to enter a new era of development with the addition of Sheraton Hotel and Landers Superstore.
This marks a promising future for the city and its residents, bringing excitement and opportunities for all. (With CIO report)
