THE 'Kasalan ng Bayan' event took place in barangay Patag, where 43 couples got married before Mayor Klarex Uy.
The event, along with "klarex Nga serbisyo sa baryo" that benefited several residents, was organized by the city government and took place on Saturday morning, September 16, at the Camp Evangelista Elementary School Covered Court.
The klarex Nga serbisyo sa baryo brought all at the doorstep of every barangay that they visit and its highlight is the kasalan ng bayan the services of city hall.
"Each of the 43 couples was granted a marriage license and received various gifts to celebrate their special day," said City Mayor's Office Chief of Staff Shiela Lumbatan.
Lumbatan said mayor Uy expressed his appreciation for the event, stating that it was a significant help for those couples who had been together for a long time but couldn't afford a wedding.
The 'Kasalan ng Bayan' program, one of the mayor's initiatives, aimed to assist couples who wanted to get married but faced financial constraints, according to Lumbatan.
She said the newlyweds were extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 'Kasalan ng Bayan' program.
Lumbatan also said many of them had been saving money for a considerable period, hoping to one day have their dream wedding.
"With the support of Mayor Klarex and this initiative, their dreams finally came true," Lumbatan said.
Mayor Klarex Uy congratulated the couples on their special day and wished them a lifetime of happiness.
The event not only provided a platform for couples to formalize their relationships but also served as a celebration of love and unity within the community.
The mayor's office, along with the local government, was committed to supporting its residents and ensuring that everyone had equal opportunities to celebrate their love and commitment.
"The 'Kasalan ng Bayan' event was a testament to the mayor's dedication to the community and his belief in the importance of family and marriage," said Lumbatan.
By providing marriage licenses and essential items such as lechon, cake, wine, rice, and groceries, the local government aimed to alleviate the financial burden of getting married and create a memorable experience for the couples involved, Lumbatan added.
Overall, the 'Kasalan ng Bayan' event brought joy and happiness to the 43 couples who tied the knot.
"It served as a reminder of the power of love and the support of the community," Lumbatan said.
She added sirvices they iniatiated at barangay Patag included Legal Assistance, licensing and permits, pabasa, death and birth cert,. Job applications, distribution of philhealth cards,. Agricultural technology consultations and support,. Etc
She said that the local government's commitment to its residents and initiatives like this helped create a sense of unity and togetherness among the people.
