Goaynon chairperson of the lumad group Kalumbay said that Ireo Inahan, president of the Manobo farmers Associa-tion of barangay Mendis was forced to sign an affidavit by the barangay officials and the soldiers that those slain lumads were members of the NPA.
Lumads in the area are now complaining on a ‘martial law’ like ruling in their area where they were only given two hours to visit their rice fields and cannot go around without logging in the book of the soldiers.
If they cannot come back within two hours they will be tagged as NPA.
Goaynon is pressing these issues to the congress and the Commission on Human Rights in these forms of harassments and human rights violations. (Alwen Saliring)
