CAMIGUIN Island — In an effort to prevent the spread of 2019 novel coronavirus disease, the municipal government of Mambajao has temporarily prohibited any act of peddling in town, Tuesday.

Under Executive Order No. 16, all types of goods or items that are being carried for sale, regardless of volume or quantity, whether or not the use of vehicles has been employed, is prohibited except goods delivered directly to the public market and other establishments allowed by local authorities.

Affected peddlers will be provided a displacement area. They are directed to sell their goods at Mambajao Public Market. Proper coordination shall be made to the market administrator as to area assignment and other concerns.

All peddlers assigned at Mambajao Public Market should comply with the requirements on proper food handling and food preparation laid down under the Executive Order No. 12, mandating them to wear hygiene paraphernalia and health certification Identification card at all times.

As defined by the Executive Order, peddlers are those persons who carry things or goods from place to place, in small quantities either for sale or retail. (PIA-10)
