THREE people decided to call it quits and ended their lives over the weekend -- two were minors while another suicide was a vegetable vendor.

Capt. Dennis Dano identified one of the suicides as Reydan Pamisa, 49, of Zone 8, Bliss, Poblacion in Naawan town, Misamis Oriental.

Dano said Pamisa’s 13-year-old daughter discovered her father hanging in their living room, already lifeless, at 6 am yesterday.

Dano said Pamisa had apparently suffered from depression after his wife, who has been working overseas, told him that it was over between them.

“Wala na gani mopa-uli ang iyang misis ma-o nang depress gyud kaayo siya,” said Dano.

Since then, Dano said, Pamisa had acted strangely and was always drunk.

Here, a 16-year-old male hanged himself inside a toilet in Zone 2, Tamparong Compound, Barangay Kauswagan, at 7:45 pm, Saturday.

Maj. Jelesi Teves, Carmen police chief, identified the suicide as John Riel Domogho.

Domogho was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

The suicide’s mother Leoncia said her son was alone in their house when he killed himself. She and her husband were in Claveria town at that time.

It was learned that her son had a heart disease and lung illness which might have been the reason for the suicide’s depression.

A portion of a chat message from the suicide’s mobile phone that he sent to his girlfriend in Dangcagan, Bukidnon, reads: “Sori na gud, ma, ayaw kabalaka kay muabot gihapon ang panahon nga mamatay ra gihapon ko. Aduna man gud koy tulo ka buslot sa akong baga... Babay ma, ikaw gud kung gusto pud ka mag bigti uban ta.”

Meanwhile in Purok 2A, Barangay Casinglot in Tagoloan town, a 14-year-old used his own t-shirt to hang himself on a mango tree on Saturday night.

The suicide, Joselito Solatorio, was found hanging by his neighbor at around 8 pm, Saturday. Neighbors rushed Solatorio to St. Paul Hospital in Tagoloan but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

Those close to the suicide said they had overheard Solatorio mutter “kalami ba ma’g hikog” or something to that effect every time his mother failed to give him his allowance.

A friend, Jonalyn Doratogumba, said that before the teenager hanged himself, his mother told him to buy ice.

Neighbors said the suicide was a product of a broken home, and the suicide’s mother, Theresa Solatorio, a housekeeper, said they were financially hard-up.

“Nagpapalit pa ni siyag bandana sa ako atong adlawan. Nangayo siya’g P100 pero ako siyang giignan nga wa pay kwarta,” Theresa said.

Days before the teenager killed himself, he was expecting to receive money from his biological father.

“Nangutana man to siya nga nagpadala na ba ug kwarta iyang papa. Ingon ko nga wala paman nak. Gamiton unta kuno to niya sa iyang pag eskwela,” said Theresa.

The suicide had been enrolled at the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education.
