CAGAYAN de Oro City  — Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) will defend its regional title at the national stage after Team 302: MovedTemporarily won the 2026 HackF5RGov Davao Regional Competition.

The victory gave the school its second consecutive regional cybersecurity championship and earned its team a spot in the HackF5RGov 2026 National Competition.

The regional challenge brought together 11 colleges and universities across Davao Region, testing students on technical cybersecurity skills, incident response and problem-solving.

Team 302: MovedTemporarily, representing Mapúa MCM’s College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS), took the championship ahead of first runner-up Cyb3rkn1ght$ of Ateneo de Davao University and second runner-up Olympus Protocol of the University of Mindanao-Davao.

The winning team is composed of computer science students Ryu Henry G. Miyazaki, Jann Elle E. Bacolod, Samantha Nicole W. Cavan and Arem Kein I. Maraño, mentored by faculty member Martzel P. Baste.

Team members also posted strong individual results. The competitor using the handle “SSH” ranked first overall, while “NetBiot” placed third. “ImplodeBox” of Ateneo de Davao University finished second.

Other participating schools included Aces Tagum College, University of the Philippines Mindanao, Davao Oriental State University, Davao Central College, Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku, University of Southeastern Philippines, Cor Jesu College and Assumption College of Davao.

Mapúa MCM’s Team 302: MovedTemporarily will represent Davao Region in the national competition, joined by “ImplodeBox” as a wildcard qualifier.

The regional victory puts the Mapúa MCM team in position to test its cybersecurity skills against qualifiers from other regions at the national level.
