CITY Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, Ms. Sheila Lumbatan, recently handed over a donation of a cheque worth P200,000.00, emphasizing the importance of empowering women through additional livelihood capital.
Lumbatan stated that this generous contribution aims to support the livelihood of officials belonging to the Federation on Barangay Women Development Committee (FBWDC).
The funds according to Lumbatan will be used to assist the members of FBWDC in their various endeavors, to improve their socio-economic standing.
FBWDC head Janet Floirendo expressed deep gratitude to Ms. Lumbatan and her team for the support and encouragement received under the leadership of Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy.
During the turnover ceremony, Remy Labiano II, the City Diversity and Equality Focal Person, was also present.
This event was a testament to the city's commitment to promoting diversity and equality, ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities for growth and development, said Lumbatan.

As the co-chairperson of the Gender and Development (GAD) program, she plays a vital role in championing the rights and welfare of women and advocating for their empowerment.
The support provided by the city's Gender and Development office will greatly contribute to the success and sustainability of the FBWDC's projects.
She said that with this additional livelihood capital, the members of FBWDC can enhance their existing ventures, explore new income-generating opportunities, and ultimately improve their quality of life.
