Moreno, Uy take early lead in race for top Oro positions

REELECTIONIST Mayor Oscar Moreno and his running mate Joaquin Rainier Uy has taken the lead in the mayoral race in the city.
As of 7:45 pm last night, Moreno received 72,785 of the 305,321 voters in the partial and unofficial results. The voter turnout was 191,332.
Former mayor Vicente Emano ranked second with 59,775 while another mayoral candidate, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez had 47,236.
Uy, Moreno’s running mate and a barangay Carmen councilor, also took the lead with 69,682 over reelectionist Vice Mayor Caesar Acenas’s 63,313. Rodriguez’s running mate, Councilor Roger Abaday, had 32,712.
As of 7:55 pm, Uy’s father Rolando, a reelectionist congressman, was ahead in the 1st District with 41,898. His lone challenger, Councilor Lourdes Darimbang, registered 37,171.
Rodriguez’s brother Maximo Jr. has taken the lead in the 2nd District with 37,209 as of the 7:55 pm partial count. Trailing behind is Councilor Ramon Tabor who received 27,916, and former councilor Edgar Cabanlas with 23,847. Three other congressional candidates in the 2nd District had less than 5,000 votes.
