By ALWEN SALIRING Correspondent COUNCILORS on Monday sought an explanation over what they said was the deteriorating state of the old reservoir near the St. Augustine Cathderal that was turned into a museum by city hall. Councilor Nadya Elipe raised the concern, saying that the City Museum has not be properly maintained and taken care of by the Moreno administration. The museum was developed and opened during the Jaraula administration as a tourism feature of the city, and as part of efforts to promote local heritage. The Jaraula administration wanted the the old water tank to be a landmark of the city. “Where is the budget para maareglar ang museum ug maepair ang angay ayuhon,” Elipe said. She said she was informed that there were times city hall employees would find themselves using their own money for the maintenance of the museum. Elipe said city hall sjould give the employees “respect” by taking care of the museum. Councilor Enrico Salcedo, meanwhile, criticized Mayor Oscar Moreno for building classrooms and health centers but neglecting the City Museum. “Aha naman ang management ani?” he asked.
