THE Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) on Saturday gave various groups that took part in a simultaneous bomb drills in the city on over the weekend an above-average mark.
The groups. led by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), were given a grade of “8” with “1” as the lowest and 10 as the highest.
The simultaneous bomb drills were conducted at the Limketkai center and the Agora area in Lapasan at around 9 am on Saturday.
Mario Verner Monsanto, city hall disaster risk reduction management consultant, said the groups that were given an “8” by the OCD came from the Cocpo, Army, Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Red Cross, Department of Health, and city hall.
The drill was the second since 2014 as an offshoot of the bomb attack at Kyla’s bar at Limketkai center in July 2013, said Allan Pocadilla, chief of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
“At least, nga mi-improve na ang kaabtik sa atong mga responders karon, niining atong ika duhang bomb drill nga gihimo,” said Porcadilla. (nitz arancon)
